Build our future together:
At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Scientist to join the Quantitative Bioanalytics (QBA) team within the Analytical and Biological Mass Spectrometry (ABMS) Group. In this exciting role, you will work in a pioneering, state-of-the-art mass spectrometry laboratory to develop, qualify, and apply LC-MS-based bioanalytical assays and other analytical methods to support R&D programs. You will have opportunities to contribute to innovative mass spectrometry technologies applied to bioanalysis and biologics characterization across Regeneron's diverse and evolving therapeutic pipeline, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand bioanalytical needs, coordinate samples and study activities, and align priorities and timelines.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.
When & where:
- Shift Requirements: Full-time
- Location: On-site in Tarrytown, NY
Discover your role:
- Perform LC-MS-based assay development, qualification, and validation for biotherapeutics and biomarkers in biological matrices to support Regeneron's R&D pipelines
- Perform bioanalysis and provide bioanalytical support for research, preclinical, clinical, and biodistribution studies by quantifying therapeutics or biomarkers in biological study samples, with increasing independence and project ownership
- Apply state-of-the-art LC-MS (e.g., triple quadrupole, Q-TOF, and Orbitrap) coupled with manual or automated sample preparation (e.g., liquid handlers and other automation robots) to investigate biotherapeutics, including antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates (AOCs), antibody-tethered ligands (ATLs), adeno-associated viruses (AAVs), peptides, and other novel modalities
- Troubleshoot and optimize methods, and ensure data quality and scientific integrity of bioanalytical and biologics characterization results, to support data-driven decisions
- Maintain accurate and reliable records, including electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) and other pertinent documentation; analyze and interpret results; and effectively communicate findings at team and cross-functional meetings, and in technical reports, regulatory documents, conferences, and peer-reviewed publications
- Work in a laboratory-based role with strong support for skill and career development, while taking increasing ownership of projects and priorities
- Develop and troubleshoot analytical methods, solve scientific and technical problems, and explore new technologies and approaches to address bioanalytical challenges
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, good record keeping, and organizational skills
- Work independently and collaboratively across teams, build productive working relationships, and coordinate samples, activities, priorities, timelines, and deliverables across multiple programs
- Think and act independently on well-defined projects, while working collaboratively in a team environment and adapting to changing priorities
- Communicate clearly and effectively, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be results-driven, adaptable, and scientifically curious, with the ability to thrive in an innovative, fast-paced R&D environment
This role requires:
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
- 6+ years (MS) or 8+ years (BS) of industrial or academic experience with LC-MS based bioanalytical assays for biomarkers, protein therapeutics, antibodies, AAVs, or other therapeutic modalities
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS and advanced mass spectrometry platforms, such as triple quadrupole, Q-TOF, and Orbitrap, with a strong understanding of mass spectrometry techniques and their applications to large-molecule analysis
- Experience with GxP laboratory environment, documentation, and regulatory compliance in the biotech or biopharmaceutical industry is a plus
- Deep understanding of analytical method qualification and validation is highly desired; knowledge of ELISA and other ligand-binding assays is a plus
