Job description

Overview

We’re hiring an extremely talented scientist focused on neurodegeneration and Alzheimer's disease. A deep background in Alzheimer's disease and dementia prevention is critical for success in this role, as are an intervention-oriented mindset to prevention and regenerative CNS medicine. Designing strategies to protect aging neurons and regenerate damaged neurons are two primary goals.

Base pay and compensation

Base pay range: $135,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr

Compensation is commensurate with experience. The compensation ranges listed below are starting ranges.

Responsibilities
  • Devise novel practical and actionable interventions to slow age-related cognitive decline and prevent dementia, particularly Alzheimer's disease
  • Research highly translational technologies to preserve existing CNS function or repair/restore damaged CNS components
  • Collaborate with other ICR scientists to leverage company resources and maximize productivity
Required qualifications
  • A PhD with postdoctoral experience focused on regenerating lost CNS neurons/other cells, repairing damaged CNS neurons/other cells or preventing age-related brain damage
  • Extensive knowledge of iPSC-derived in vitro neuronal models as well as experience with exosomes as therapeutics; additional mixed cell-type culture models is preferred
  • Experience making iPSC-derived brain organoids for compound screening
