Job summary

Retro is seeking an experienced scientist to join the Microglia Therapeutics team and drive discovery research in Alzheimer’s disease. You will develop in vitro and in vivo disease models, establish assays, and interpret experiments exploring microglial cell therapy.

You’ll work with iPSC-derived neural cells and brain organoids, optimizing 2D/3D culture and readouts, and collaborating across Retro teams to advance our mission.

Qualifications

• PhD in Neuroscience, Biology, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in Alzheimer’s disease research (in vitro/in vivo).
• Experience with iPSC-derived neural cell types and brain organoids.
• Ability to design, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute discovery experiments for microglial cell therapy in Alzheimer’s disease.
• Culture and differentiate iPSCs into CNS cell types; optimize 2D/3D protocols.
• Develop in vitro disease models and in vivo modeling approaches for Alzheimer’s disease.
• Develop cellular and molecular assays to evaluate microglial function and pathology.
• Collaborate with histology and imaging teams for sections and image acquisition.
• Integrate findings to refine hypotheses and determine next steps.
• Present results to internal teams and collaborators.
