Job summary

Air Liquide is seeking a Scientist II in Fremont, California to join the Surfaces and Materials Analysis Lab, specializing in trace and ultra-trace metal analysis using ICP-MS, HR-ICP-MS. The candidates must have experience with metal analysis, acid handling, sample preparation for complex matrices, and method development for ICP-MS; laser ablation ICP-MS is highly desirable.

Strong statistics and method uncertainty know-how are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related Science.
Experience with trace metal analysis using ICP-MS.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

Manage large projects in the Surfaces and Materials Analysis Lab.
Provide technical support to chemists and non-managerial direction.
Perform analysis and research with minimal supervision.
Develop new methods for additional lab capabilities.
Develop robust methods for analysis of chemicals and materials used in semiconductor/high-tech industries.
Investigate customer problems and contamination issues.
Maintain instrument performance and preventive maintenance feedback.
Prepare analysis reports and communicate with customers.
Publish and present analytical capabilities at industry conferences.
Train lab staff on new methods and procedures.
