Job summary

Air Liquide USA LLC in Fremont, CA, is seeking a Scientist II for the Surfaces and Materials Analysis Lab. The role focuses on trace and ultra-trace metal analysis using ICP-MS and HR-ICP-MS, with strong emphasis on method development, data interpretation, and customer collaboration.

Prior metal analysis, acid handling, and complex matrix preparation are essential. The candidate will lead projects, develop new analytical methods for semiconductor materials, and work with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

BS in Chemistry with 15+ years of experience.
MS in Chemistry with 7+ years.
PhD in Chemistry with 2–5 years.

Responsibilities

Manage large projects.
Provide technical support to chemists and non-managerial direction.
Perform analysis and research with minimum supervision.
Develop new lab methods for additional capabilities.
Improve methods for analysis of chemicals and materials used in semiconductor industries.
Investigate customer problems such as contamination issues.
Maintain instrument performance and preventive maintenance feedback.
Prepare analysis reports for customers.
Publish and present analytical developments at journals and conferences.
Train lab staff on new method implementation.
Support customer projects (MDL studies, CI).
Work with sales/marketing to promote offerings.
