Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Scientist II in Ridgefield, CT to advance disease positioning through quantitative digital image analysis of protein and mRNA in human tissues. The role involves multiplex fluorescence immunohistochemistry, mRNA in situ hybridization, and supporting spatial omics approaches to understand biology of therapeutic targets.

You will develop and apply image analysis algorithms, manage tissue resources, and collaborate across disciplines in a matrixed team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years or Master’s degree in related field
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry and mRNA in situ hybridization; multiplexing assays
  • Knowledge of quantitative image analysis techniques and AI-based analysis
  • Familiarity with immunology and autoimmune diseases
  • Ability to collaborate in matrixed teams and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute routine and non-routine experiments with supervision and independence
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment; troubleshoot effectively
  • Apply scientific principles; perform literature searches
  • Obtain and validate antibodies; procure appropriate controls
  • Contribute to incorporation of new technologies in molecular histopathology and image analysis
  • Communicate findings clearly within the team and to stakeholders
  • Ensure data integrity and ethics; maintain SOP-compliant records
  • Maintain a safe laboratory environment and quality assurance standards
