Job summary

Astrix is seeking a Scientist to independently execute laboratory research in Fairfield County, CT, supporting the development of new therapeutic modalities such as peptides, oligonucleotides, and antibodies.

You will design and run experiments, analyze data, and maintain documentation while ensuring regulatory and company standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Plate assays and particle analysis experience is required.
  • Experience with wet chemistry techniques, including buffer, mobile phase, and formulation preparation.
  • Hands-on experience with chromatography techniques such as HPLC, SEC, and AF4/FFF.
  • Ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret laboratory experiments.
  • Strong scientific data analysis, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety, regulatory requirements, and quality compliance.
  • Preferred experience with NMR spectroscopy.
  • Preferred experience with Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), FlowCam, or other particle sizing techniques.
  • Preferred experience with fluorescent labeling, microscopy, and image analysis.
  • Preferred experience with DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, electrophoresis, and other biophysical characterization techniques.

  • Conduct literature reviews and apply knowledge.
  • Support lab organization, reagent tracking, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project objectives.
  • Ensure safety, regulatory, and quality compliance.

Job Summary

The Scientist is responsible for independently executing laboratory research to support the development of new therapeutic modalities, including peptides, oligonucleotides, antibodies, viruses, and non-viral delivery systems. The role involves designing and conducting experiments, developing product and process knowledge, analyzing scientific data, maintaining laboratory operations, and contributing to technical documentation while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute laboratory studies supporting the development of novel therapeutic modalities.
  • Design, perform, and troubleshoot routine and non-routine experiments independently.
  • Build product and process knowledge through experimental research.
  • Prepare buffers, mobile phases, and multi-component formulations using wet chemistry techniques.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Perform analytical characterization using HPLC, SEC, AF4/FFF, and related chromatography techniques.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and present scientific data with integrity.
  • Present research findings to project teams and departmental meetings.
