Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a capable in vivo research technician to support CKD and cardio-renal-metabolic studies.

The role focuses on independent study execution, data interpretation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure study integrity and compliance with SOPs, including IACUC governance. Weekend/holiday rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years experience in related scientific discipline; pharmaceutical, biotechnology or CRO experience is highly desirable

Job description

Initiates and completes routine in vivo studies, principally in field of chronic kidney disease (CKD), in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision. Demonstrates the ability to interpret outcome of experiments and to propose appropriate follow-up; troubleshoots effectively. Demonstrates technical ability to assist in the design and execution of non-routine experiments in the context of CKD and cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) in vivo models; conducts exploratory experiments with minimal supervision. Complies with applicable regulations including IACUC governance, performing all work in a safe and compliant manner; maintains proper records in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and policies. Applies basic scientific principles for study design, data analysis, and interpretation; performs literature searches and extracts relevant information from published protocols. Independently operates and is responsible for lab equipment; troubleshoots effectively. Communicates own work effectively orally and in writing; contributes to writing protocols and procedures; provide input for scientific reports. Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics. As needed, integration into weekend/holiday rotation at cadence consistent with rest of the team

Skills

• Apply knowledge of basic theory and scientific principles of to conduct hands-on in vivo research; direct experience in rodent models of CKD is desirable.
• Experience in routine routes of rodent dosing (i.v., i.p., p.o., s.c., and i.m.), health monitoring, and sample collection is required.
• Compliance and communication experience with IACUC governance.
• Proven problem-solving ability with aptitude for agile learning style.
• Assist in the incorporation of new technologies to enhance cardio-renal-metabolic research.
• Proficiency with data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism; expectation to develop expertise in other software, as necessary.
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
