Job summary

Sotalent is seeking a Scientist 1 to perform hands-on analysis of air, water, and soil samples in a environmental testing laboratory. You will support production of accurate data and grow your laboratory expertise in a quality-focused setting.

The role requires a Bachelors in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related STEM field, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established methods while wearing PPE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another relevant STEM discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Strong interest in laboratory science and environmental testing.
• Ability to learn and apply established analytical methods and laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform, support, and oversee the analysis of air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
• Operate, clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Follow established laboratory procedures and quality standards to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Accurately document procedures, observations, test results, and other laboratory activities.
• Maintain organized records and contribute to the overall quality and integrity of laboratory data.
• Work safely and effectively within a laboratory environment while following required PPE and safety procedures.

Requirements

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–1:00 AM
• Compensation: $19.00 per hour
