Lilly in Indianapolis is seeking a Scientific Lead to oversee daily operations of the Global Sample Management site, guiding a blended team of staff and contractors. You will drive throughput, data integrity, and automation initiatives to advance discovery and ensure high-quality sample handling across modalities.

Qualifications

• PhD or BS/MS with substantial hands-on laboratory experience in compound or sample management.
• Experience leading or supervising a laboratory team with accountability for people and performance.
• Strong knowledge of high-throughput screening workflows and plate-based assay preparation.
• Proficiency with LIMS or comparable sample tracking systems and automation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across sample management functions and ensure timely delivery to discovery teams.
• Own site throughput, queue status, and capacity planning with data-driven escalation for constraints.
• Maintain readiness of instrumentation and automation platforms; coordinate maintenance and vendor engagement.
• Provide day-to-day leadership for the site team, including scheduling, onboarding, and development planning.
• Drive process improvements and expand operations into new modalities with cross-functional partners.
• Ensure data integrity, compliance, and SOPs across systems like LIMS and related workflows.
