Knowesis Inc. is seeking a Science Writer SME III to develop and edit science communications for the Psychological Health Center of Excellence.

The role is hybrid/telework eligible and requires collaboration with center leadership and technical subject matter experts to translate complex health concepts for general audiences. The position mandates a master's degree in a related field and at least eight years of professional science writing experience, including leadership experience and

• Master's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Health, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in science, medical, or technical writing, including leading a strategic communications team in direct coordination with center leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical/science writing support to develop impactful written artifacts communicating PHCoE initiatives and research findings.
• Support the editing and review of written content intended for internal use or public release.
• Work with technical subject matter experts to write brief information products highlighting center accomplishments.
• Ensure continuity of voice across products while translating complex scientific and health concepts for general audiences.
• Review content for adherence to DoD, DHA, and other policies governing the release of government information.

Brief Description

Position: Science Writer SME III

Location: Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE)

Work Environment: Hybrid / Telework Eligible (Routine and situational telework is authorized. Facility space restrictions may necessitate part-time or full-time telework.)

Clearance Required: TIER 2: Non-critical sensitive position (Must be able to obtain and maintain)

Status: Full-Time

Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000

The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide technical/science writing support to develop impactful written artifacts communicating PHCoE initiatives and research findings.
• Support the editing and review of written content intended for internal use or public release.
• Work with technical subject matter experts to write brief information products highlighting center accomplishments.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Health, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in science, medical, or technical writing, including leading a strategic communications team in direct coordination with center leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AMA or APA style guidelines.
• Previous experience writing for federal health agencies or academic research institutions.
