Job summary

Knowesis Inc. is seeking a mid-level Scientific Data Analyst SME II to support PHCoE research and epidemiology missions. The role focuses on data integrity for large health datasets and quantitative analysis to support surveillance and research objectives.

The candidate will work in a hybrid environment with the PHCoE, applying SQL, SAS, and R to deliver reproducible analyses and data files for multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Data Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing and analyzing large health or administrative datasets.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical research data management support, including developing conventions for naming, labeling, and storing data from multiple sources.
• Use structured query language to generate analytic data files and transform variables per project requirements.
• Clean datasets, transform data structures, and create sets of variables needed for data analyses.
• Provide scientific analytical services according to approved protocols to ensure quality, accuracy, and reproducibility of results.
• Create program syntax and run models/analyses to support surveillance and research objectives.

Position: Scientific Data Analyst SME II

Location: Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE)

Work Environment: Hybrid / Telework Eligible (Routine and situational telework is authorized. Facility space restrictions may necessitate part-time or full-time telework.)

Clearance Required: TIER 2: Non-critical sensitive position (Must be able to obtain and maintain)

Status: Full-Time

Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000

Knowesis is seeking an SME II – Scientific Data Analyst who will provides critical data management and quantitative support to the PHCoE research and epidemiology missions. This mid-level expert ensures the integrity of large administrative datasets used for health surveillance and research.

The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide clinical research data management support, including developing conventions for naming, labeling, and storing data from multiple sources.
• Use structured query language to generate analytic data files and transform variables per project requirements.
• Clean datasets, transform data structures, and create sets of variables needed for data analyses.
• Provide scientific analytical services according to approved protocols to ensure quality, accuracy, and reproducibility of results.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Data Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing and analyzing large health or administrative datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in SQL, SAS, or R programming.
• Experience navigating the MHS Information Platform (MIP) or similar military health data systems.
