Job summary

Da Vinci Academy for Science and the Arts at San Antonio is seeking a Science Teacher to support mid/high school students on a part-time to full-time basis, depending on campus needs. You will design lessons, implement diverse instructional strategies, and monitor student progress to inform instruction.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, with a Texas teaching license and ESL certification preferred; prior curriculum collaboration and a commitment to equity in education are valued.

• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
• Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
• Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Reading, Special Reading).
• Effectively implement district initiatives.
• Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
• Performs additional assignments as needed.

POSITION TITLE: ScienceTeacher - Midde/High School (Part/Full Time depending on campus need at time of hire)

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

REPORTS TO: Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 195 days with benefits provided according to the Teacher Agreement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Serve on committees as assigned.
• Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
