About The Position
We are seeking a full-time, salaried Science Teacher for our middle school for the 2025-26 school year. This is a 10-month position.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with colleagues to develop cohesive, Common Core-aligned curriculum materials and instructional goals.
2. Prepare standards-based lessons that promote critical thinking.
3. Utilize strong content knowledge to deliver engaging lessons aligned with Common Core standards.
4. Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning styles and abilities.
5. Assess student growth through various methods and monitor progress to refine teaching practices.
6. Create a positive learning environment emphasizing high expectations, urgency, rigor, and consistency.
7. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress.
8. Establish and maintain effective classroom management procedures.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or concentration in education preferred.
• At least two years of teaching experience in an urban K-12 setting with a strong record of achievement preferred.
• Content area expertise is a plus.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Salary and Benefits
Salary ranges from $61,000 to $99,000 based on experience and education. Meridian offers competitive compensation and opportunities for additional income through leadership roles, extracurricular activities, and tutoring programs.
