What You'll Do:
- Facilitate the science curriculum, maintain science supplies and science lab in an organized manner, serve as a science resource to all staff, and participate in all school meetings.
- Create a learning environment using academic standards, IEP Goals, clear expectations, and Positive Interventions and Supports to help students thrive.
- Build relationships with students to create an instructional design that plans for adaptations and meets individual student needs.
- Implement appropriate assessments of student learning aligned to instructional goals and adapted to individual students.
- Establish clear expectations and classroom routines to engage students and maximize instruction.
- Model appropriate interactions, communication, and conduct as tools for managing student behavior. Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to meet students' learning needs.
- Implement student IEPs, document progress, communicate with parents, attend meetings, and use assessments to monitor student learning.
- Use reflection and participate in professional development to improve teaching craft.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Education, with Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in General Science 7-12 or Biology 7-12 (Public or Private). Highly-qualified status required.
- Complete and pass agency Crisis/Physical Intervention training.
- Must be eligible for PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance, and Arrest/Conviction Report.
