ROLE AND PURPOSE:
The Teacher provides high-quality instruction that supports students' academic growth, critical thinking, and
engagement in learning. At CISD, this role ensures students receive rigorous,standards-aligned instruction and
meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for future academic and career opportunities. Teachers build
positive classroom environments,monitorstudent progress, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure every student receives the support needed to succeed.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution - Valid Texas teaching certification required in theappropriate contentor grade level area


Experience:
- Strong knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum standards, and classroom management strategies - Ability to work effectively with diverse students, families, staff, and community partners - Strong instructional, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

- Ability to use student data and instructional technology tools tomonitorprogress and improve student learning
- Commitment to student growth, academic success, andequitableaccess to high-quality instruction
- Bilingual skills preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
I. INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING
- Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
- Use assessment data to informinstruction.
- Design lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.


II. INSTRUCTION

- Deliver engaging instruction that promotes critical thinking and student participation.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to support student learning.
- Provide opportunities for student discussion, writing, and problem-solving.

III. ASSESSMENT
- Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Providetimelyfeedback to students.
- Adjustinstructionbased on student performance data.

IV. CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT
- Establish a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
- Implement classroom management strategies that support learning.

V. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities.
- Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.


VI. WORKING CONDITIONS:
MENTAL DEMANDS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending,
pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
- Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
- Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions
