Job summary

Dallas College seeks an on-site Staff position to provide direct tutorial, training and instructional lab support to students and laboratory personnel in supervised laboratories. The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty and staff to maintain a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities include preparing experiments, assisting with lab activities, clerical support, reporting and data management, helping students with assignments, and participating in inventory and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required, official transcripts are required.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, prepares laboratory experiments/exercises to demonstrate learning experiences.
• Assist in supervision of lab activities to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Provide clerical support including ordering, cataloging, and maintaining lab supplies.
• Assist in preparation of reports and correspondences.
• Assist students through clarification of course assignments, lectures and labs.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to demonstrate procedures and use equipment.
• Assist instructor with test selection, exam administration, and recording grades.
• Participate in periodic inventory of capital equipment.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment repairs; coordinate major repairs as needed.
• Maintain related records and provide information for decision making.
• Provide excellent customer service and communication with Dallas College stakeholders.
