Job summary

Dallas College seeks a dynamic Lab Specialist to support laboratories across one of its seven Schools. You will maintain materials, supplies, equipment and information systems while providing technical support for courses and programs, reporting to the Lab Manager.

The role requires an associate degree plus one year of related experience (or two years if no degree). After six months, some positions may qualify for a hybrid work arrangement; academic positions require on-campus presence.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree plus one year of related work experience and/or experience in a teaching environment. Official transcripts are required.
  • Some positions may require specific state licensed/certifications depending on the discipline.
  • Bilingual preferred and background check may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily operations and maintenance of laboratories, learning laboratories, tool rooms and equipment in support of courses and programs.
  • Provide training on laboratory safety procedures and hazardous materials handling.
  • Maintain MSDS information and inventory for equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Schedule and track maintenance, repairs, and calibrations of lab equipment.
  • Coordinate with faculty to support learning labs and student orientation.
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors for quotes and purchases.
