Job summary

The Woodlands EHN Team invites applications for qualified Science Intervention Teachers on a casual contract for a year, with a minimum 100 hours per year and additional casual hours available.

You will educate medically unwell pupils to support reintegration into school, traveling across County Durham and teaching in diverse settings such as homes, Durham County buildings, EHN bases, or mainstream/specialist schools. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Be well organised, highly motivated and flexible to work independently or in a team.
• Experience delivering a creative curriculum and high expectations in all school areas.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science intervention to pupils who are medically unable to attend school.
• Travel across County Durham to deliver education in various settings (homes, One Point, libraries, EHN bases, or mainstream/specialist schools).
• Support reintegration of pupils into their regular schools and cooperate with a dynamic team.

The Woodlands EHN Team are seeking to recruit qualified Science intervention teachers to educate pupils who are medically too unwell to attend school. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people and their families. To support a child's education until they are well enough to reintegrate to their school.
Candidates will be required to teach Science

The successful candidate must be:

• A skilled and effective teacher with enthusiasm and drive
• Committed to working alongside a supportive and dynamic team to continue to raise standards and achievement.
• Has experience of delivering a creative curriculum.
• Have high expectations in all areas of school life
• Possesses excellent communication skills.
• Is well organised, highly motivated and flexible when working independently or as part of a team.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

The post holder will be required to travel across all of County Durham. Teaching may take place in the family home, a Durham County building (e.g. One Point, library), an EHN Base (Sacriston or Leadgate) or a mainstream/specialist school in County Durham.
