Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or certificate of completion in engineering or related scientific discipline, or five years of equivalent work experience.
• Experience applying complex scientific and engineering principles to perform technical services and support.
• Experience with data analysis, experimental processes, design and development of prototypes, equipment or systems.
• Ability to write clear documentation and manage research protocols and related administrative duties.
• Experience supervising a laboratory space and staff.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical research utilizing and/or developing experimental equipment, devices, specimens, plans, designs, reports, and data analysis.
• Provide leadership oversight of technicians and support staff in daily work.
• Liaise between researchers, students, technical staff, scientists and vendors; train and guide others.
• Support science programs; analyze requirements, monitor experimental processes, and design prototypes and systems.
• Manage, repair, and troubleshoot complex equipment and systems.
• Prepare and review drawings, material lists, and engineering documents for fabrication and testing.
• Coordinate installations; plan and execute project phases and schedule equipment operations.
• Oversee procurement, scheduling, and supervision of technicians and staff.
