# Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) Instructor (Year round)## DescriptionThe Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) Instructor for SEI is responsible for the instruction and supervision of students that shall include individual skill development, expansion of knowledge and ability to reason. Supervision of students shall include guidance, development and safety.**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**Identifies the needs of a group of students as well as individual students and provides for assessment of their abilities in Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and performance goals in accordance with methods prescribed by the supervisor. Evaluates the students academic progress and maintains appropriate records. Provides instruction, organization and management in the classroom that creates an environment conducive to learning. Consults with individual teachers and/or teams to provide assessment, instructional and/or curriculum support in the areas of literacy and math. Establishes, maintains and supports standards of personal conduct and discipline in accordance with the discipline policies and regulations of SEI. Supervises students both in and out of the classroom. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with SEI staff, students and their families. Adheres to SEI standards and policies.## QualificationsMust have proven expertise, knowledge and skills in the related special programming field. Effective classroom management skills. Excellent interpersonal presentation skills. Enthusiasm for working with youth of various social, education and economic levels.
