Job summary

Ashland School District 5 is seeking a Youth Advocate at Ashland High School to support the school counseling team and collaborate with classroom teachers to promote student well-being and academic engagement. The position is 0.9375 FTE with 7.5 hours per day and probationary terms.

The role involves assisting students, maintaining records, organizing activities, supervising recess, field trips, and supporting staff with discipline and wellness initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent; prior school setting experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; maintains confidentiality.
• CPR/First Aid certifications required or obtainable.
• Basic data entry and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist individual students or groups as directed by principal and/or counselor.
• Maintain records, including attendance and data entry.
• Organize assemblies, group games and activities.
• Supervise recess and supervise other areas as needed.
• Participate in team meetings and represent the district professionally.
