Job summary

Ashland School District in Ashland, Oregon, is seeking a Youth Advocate to support students under the school counseling team at Ashland High School. The role is 0.9375 FTE (7.5 hours per day) with duties carried out under moderate supervision.

Your duties include assisting students, maintaining records, organizing activities, supervising during recess and field trips, promoting student wellness, and contributing to a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree or equivalent; preferred school setting experience.
• Language: Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English.
• Interpersonal: Works well with students, staff and diverse backgrounds.
• Computer: Basic database, email, spreadsheets and word processing skills.
• Certificates: CPR/First Aid, Oregon Driver's License and Food Handler card.

Responsibilities

• Assist students or groups as directed by principal or counselor.
• Maintain anecdotal records and attendance data as directed.
• Organize assemblies, activities and group programs.
• Oversee peer mediation and supervise recess, field trips and meals.
• Support classroom operations and school safety procedures.
• Participate in staff meetings and district trainings.
