Job summary

DATTCO is hiring CREC Van Drivers for the New Britain, CT location to transport students on contracted routes. This part-time role offers structure and community impact in the school transportation program.

The position emphasizes safety through pre- and post-trip inspections, adherence to school district procedures, and professional communication with families and school staff, with opportunities for training and growth within the DATTCO family.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training will be provided.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least three consecutive years of driving with a valid license.
• Must have an acceptable driving record and meet CT DMV standards.
• Must meet CT DMV STV and/or Public Passenger endorsements requirements.
• Must complete pre-employment screenings and annual safety training.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school on assigned routes.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Follow traffic laws, routes, and school district safety rules.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment for students while driving.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, and supervisors.
• Complete safety training and compliance requirements.
