Job summary

Manassas Park City School Board is seeking a School Van Attendant to support safe student transportation. The role requires ensuring a calm, orderly environment on vans and buses while assisting with supervision and student needs during trips.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years driving experience with a valid Virginia driver’s license, pass a DOT physical, and maintain DMV records. The position includes split shifts and benefits eligibility during the school year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of driving experience with a valid driver’s license.
• Must hold a valid Virginia Driver’s License with the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Must successfully pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol testing, and tuberculosis screening.
• Must meet driving record requirements and maintain DMV record; CPR certification.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and railroad-crossing procedures.
• Ability to pursue DMV certification to drive a non-CDL bus.
• English speaking ability; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document results.
• Transport students safely on scheduled routes and field trips.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of van and bus interiors.
• Monitor students for safety and compliance with policies.
• Respond to emergencies and communicate with school staff and parents.
• Assist students with disabilities entering and exiting vehicles.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and secure equipment and students as needed.
• Maintain confidential student information and prepare reports.
• Support field trips and drills; follow safety procedures and policies.
