Job summary

York County School Division is seeking a School Van Driver to transport students to and from schools in a safe and punctual manner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining valid driving credentials, inspecting the vehicle prior to operations, and ensuring student discipline while on the road.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Virginia license. Training will be provided, and the work schedule is as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Completion of a defensive driving course preferred.
• Sufficient knowledge of automotive vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

• Transport students to and from assigned schools.
• Maintain valid Virginia Driver License.
• Inspect vehicle before and after daily operations.
• Drive defensively under varying traffic conditions.

Skills

Valid Virginia motor vehicle operator's license

Excellent driving record

Ability to operate radio communication

Knowledge of State highway operating rules
