York County School Division is seeking a School Van Driver to transport students to and from schools in a safe and punctual manner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining valid driving credentials, inspecting the vehicle prior to operations, and ensuring student discipline while on the road.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Virginia license. Training will be provided, and the work schedule is as needed.
Title: SCHOOL VAN DRIVER
Position Type: Non-Exempt
Performs routine driving duties transporting students to and from assigned schools in a 7-passenger van or automobile. Selected candidates must complete training and pass a physical exam, drug testing and background checks. Training will be provided by the Transportation Department.
Reports to: Area Supervisor – Transportation. Each driver shall be directly responsible to the principal of the school(s) served on matters related to student discipline and patron relations.
As needed. Workshop/in-service as required. Salary according to the School Board Pay Plan.
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-licensed personnel.
