Job summary

SCR Medical Transportation LLC in Chicago is hiring part-time Special Education School Van Drivers. The role involves transporting students safely, performing pre-trip inspections, and adhering to DOT regulations. No CDL required; starting pay is $20.50/hour with $18.00/hour during training.

Flexible weekday schedule, summers off, and paid training are offered. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, pass a DOT physical, and consent to a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Three years of driving experience with no gaps and no more than 1 moving violation.
• No DUI/DWI on driving record.
• Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
• Must be at least 23 years old.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must obtain a School Bus Eligibility Receipt from the DMV (at interview).

Responsibilities

• Training $18.00/hour
• Safely transport students to and from school and activities
• Arrive at destinations on schedule
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Conduct child checks after each route
• Use navigation tools to plan efficient routes
• Maintain a clean, fueled, and well-maintained vehicle
• Keep accurate mileage and maintenance records
• Interact with students, parents, and staff in a professional manner
• Perform other duties as assigned
