Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a Dispatcher/Router to manage and optimize school bus routes for all district students and buildings in Michigan City. The role coordinates transportation needs between parents, schools, and bus drivers under the Director of Transportation.

The position requires strong communication, organization, and knowledge of transportation technology systems, with duties spanning route development and daily dispatch operations.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective problem solving skills and ability to handle confidential issues.
• Ability to use basic office software and transportation technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains all school bus routes, including field trips and special circumstances.
• Maintains office services including phone/radio dispatch and visitor handling.
• Keeps records/logs of driver activities to track daily routes.
• Oversees extra-duty routes to ensure policy alignment and contractual compliance.
• Provides route/driver analysis to director for consolidation and improvement.
