Job summary

Shawnee Public Schools is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee dispatching and clerical support for the transportation department, ensuring routes are adequately staffed and communication remains clear.

The role involves coordinating drivers, maintaining attendance rosters, and applying district policies with independent judgment. The supervisor will oversee up to 35 employees and may handle warehouse distribution tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Credentials: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and acceptable driving record; CDL Class B with air brake, passenger and school bus endorsements required on employment.
• Education: High school diploma or GED; Bachelor Degree preferred but not required.
• Training or Experience Required: 3 years of related transportation experience.

Responsibilities

• Dispatching and clerical support duties for the transportation department.
• Complete necessary paperwork and understand Transportation Software.
• Communicate effectively and use discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems.
• Supervise and coordinate drivers and monitors to cover routes and maintain attendance rosters.
• Operate or supervise use of standard office machines and required equipment.
• Maintain records and follow established procedures; report times and durations accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
