Job summary

Shawnee Public Schools is seeking a Transportation Supervisor at the Transportation Building to oversee daily bus operations, dispatches, and clerical support in the transportation department. The ideal candidate will have a valid Oklahoma driver's license, ability to obtain Class B CDL with air brake and school bus endorsements, and at least 3 years of transportation experience.

This role requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Credentials: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and acceptable driving record. (Will be required to obtain a minimum of Class B CDL with air brake, passenger and school bus endorsements upon employment.)
• Education: High school diploma or GED. Bachelor Degree preferred but not required.
• Training or Experience Required: 3 years of related transportation experience.

Responsibilities

• Assures that each scheduled route is appropriately covered by utilizing available relief or substitute drivers or monitors.
• Maintains an accurate daily attendance roster of drivers and monitors.
• Maintains cordial working relationships with assigned drivers, monitors and district staff.
• Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of all facets of driver and driver monitors.
• Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of roads and streets in the Shawnee school district.
• Ensures drivers and monitors report their times accurately and any additional time is accurately reflected on the daily report.
• May operate a two-way radio base, as required.
• Communicates with employees to dispatch buses to needed locations for routine requests or emergency situations.
• Maintain or assist in maintaining assigned files and records; receives and processes information according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Operates standard office machines, as necessary.
• Maintains regular attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
