Job summary

Chester Elite Trans LLC seeks a Transportation Specialist to lead school bus operations with hands‑on leadership, coordinating routes, dispatch, and safety with drivers, schools, and leadership. You will drive on‑time, safe transportation and optimize routing and efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role combines office work with field presence at depots and schools, requiring strong communication, problem‑solving, and adaptability.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business, Transportation, or related field, or equivalent experience in school transportation operations.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in school transportation, with at least 2 years in leadership or operations roles.
• Solid understanding of transportation regulations, routing logistics, and fleet management.
• Comfort with transportation management systems and on‑board technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily routes, schedules, and dispatch operations to keep everything on schedule.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Identify ways to improve routing, fuel efficiency, and overall operations.
• Serve as the go‑to for resolving issues with routes, drivers, or schools.
• Lead driver training initiatives on safety, customer service, and ops updates.
• Review driver performance and provide feedback and support.
