Job summary

The Muscogee County School District is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily bus operations, coordinate routes, and manage drivers to ensure safe, reliable service for students the district serves.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor preferred), a valid driver's license with CDL, and strong written and oral communication skills. Position is exempt with 240 work days; salary is $56,536.80 annually. Posting remains open until filled.

Qualifications

• Educational Level: High School diploma/GED; Bachelor Degree or higher in job related field preferred
• Certification/License: Valid Driver’s License; CDL with S/P endorsement or able to obtain after 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Daily attendance and punctuality are required to meet goals of the work unit.
• Communicates information and instructions to drivers (schedules, route changes, etc.) for advising on situations impacting transportation services.
• Compiles data (incident reports, inspections, etc.) for developing formal reports and mandated requirements.
• Coordinates scheduling of district vehicles (routes, field trips, etc.) to meet transportation requirements.
• Develops schedules (routes, workload, driver training) to determine driver and equipment needs.
• Informs stakeholders of practices and incidents for follow-up action and procedures.
• Manages bus drivers and monitors onboarding, goal setting, disciplinary actions, evaluations.
• Monitors time and attendance of transportation staff and resolves scheduling problems.
• Participates in meetings and training sessions to convey information.
• Researches transportation information to ensure department and district meet regulations.
• Responds to vehicle emergencies and makes recommendations for resolution.
• Serves as a resource for inquiries about bus routes, schedules, and operations.
• Performs other related duties to ensure efficient functioning.
