Fountain-Fort Carson School District # 8 seeks an Administrative Support/Transportation Supervisor to oversee pupil transportation services. You will supervise drivers and monitors, coordinate routes, ensure safety, and manage schedules for district transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise transportation department staff: hiring, disciplining, directing work, training and evaluating.
  • Manage transportation systems to meet instructional and extracurricular requirements.
  • Foster a productive, cooperative workplace with shared goals and respect.
  • Communicate with parents, district administration and staff on transportation issues.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws, district policies; maintain records and reports for funding.
  • Resolve student discipline issues related to bus transportation with district admins.
  • Plan bus routes and schedules for eligible students.
  • Contribute to transportation department strategic planning and budget.
  • Attend meetings and represent the department as needed.
  • Draft and discuss driver/monitor and office staff evaluations.
  • Handle after-hours supervisory responsibilities during evenings and weekends.
  • Organize and maintain transportation and staff files.
  • Monitor timekeeping, payroll data and GPS records for staff.

Job Goals:

Oversee the transportation of students. Organize, supervise and direct pupil transportation program. Supervise operation of school buses and small vehicles owned by the district. Recruit and supervise all driver/monitor personnel.

Essential Job Functions:
  • 1. Supervise transportation department staff to include hiring, disciplining, terminating, directing work, assigning work, training and evaluating.
  • 2. Manage transportation operational systems to meet the requirements for instructional and extra-curricular activities.
  • 3. Promote a productive, positive and cooperative workplace environment through shared goals, mutual respect, employee recognition and equal opportunity. Work collaboratively with Director, Fleet Manager and other Transportation Supervisor
  • 4. Communicate with parents, district administration and staff as necessary regarding transportation issues.
  • 5. Ensure that the department adheres to all state laws, statutes, and district policies. Oversee appropriate training of personnel to meet mandated requirements for qualification and licensing. Maintain records and submit reports for state reimbursement funds.
  • 6. Collaboratively resolve student discipline issues involving busing with District administrators.
  • 7. Oversee preparation of bus routes and schedules to provide transportation for eligible students to all approved locations.
  • 8. Assist in needed preparation of the Transportation Department strategic plan and budget.
  • 9. Attend appropriate meetings and represent the transportation department as needed
  • 10. Compose and discuss driver/monitor and office staff evaluations.
  • 11. Evening, weekend, holiday and on-call supervisory responsibilities
  • 12. Organize and maintain transportation and operational employee files.
  • 13. Maintain, evaluate, audit and approve driver, monitor and office staff time, attendance records and payroll. Audit and compare timeclock, schedule, and GPS data
  • 14. Conduct collision investigations, assign refresher training, manage collision files.
  • 15. Perform other duties as assigned

  • - Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent policies and building and department procedures.
Salary:

The Transportation Supervisor salary ranges from $76,055.00 - $104,892.00
