You will assess and treat diverse student needs, develop individualized therapy plans, and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to drive progress and carryover

Qualifications

  • Active SLP license and ASHA CCC required.
  • Experience in school-based settings, life skills or self-contained classrooms.
  • Experience with feeding and swallowing strategies.
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and strategies preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat students with speech, language, and swallowing needs within life skills programs.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans, incorporating AAC as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress and carryover strategies.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning.
  • Provide guidance and training on AAC, feeding, and safe eating techniques.

Job description

Make a difference in the lives of students by bringing your expertise in speech-language pathology to a dynamic educational setting near Eugene, Oregon. We are seeking a dedicated professional for a full-time contract role spanning from August 31, 2026, to June 17, 2027, with placements available across multiple locations (final assignments pending). This unique opportunity allows you to play an integral role in supporting students within life skills programs, focusing on developing communication, feeding, and swallowing abilities, as well as implementing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) solutions.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:
  • Active SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Prior experience working in school-based settings, especially with students in life skills or self-contained classrooms
  • Proficiency with feeding and swallowing strategies to promote safe eating
  • Strong background with AAC devices and strategies preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance student outcomes
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat students with a variety of speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs within life skills programs
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans, incorporating AAC as necessary
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress and carryover strategies

Position Details:
  • 40 hours per week, no virtual/remote services
