Job summary

Soliant is seeking a contract Speech-Language Pathologist to support student communication needs for the spring semester. You can choose between two caseloads: a building-based caseload of about 50 students in grades 4–8 or a preschool transition caseload of around 40 students.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–3:00 PM, with planned reevaluations and collaboration with teachers, families, and staff. Eyegaze AAC devices are used, and licensure (IL) and CCC-SLP are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Preferred IL State Speech Language Pathologist license.
  • CCC-SLP preferred; CFY candidates encouraged.
  • Experience in school settings and with AAC devices (Eyegaze) valued.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students per IEPs.
  • Conduct required assessments, including planned reevaluations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff and families to support student growth.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and participate in meetings.
  • Adapt and implement AAC systems to meet diverse needs.

Job description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student communication needs for the spring semester. This position offers your choice between two caseloads, allowing you to tailor your experience around your interests and strengths.

Caseload Options
  • Serve approximately 50 students in grades 4th through 8th within a single building, with five reevaluations scheduled throughout the semester.
  • Alternatively, choose a preschool and transition caseload of around 40 students, with one planned reevaluation.

Both settings feature a diverse group of students and utilize a variety of AAC devices, including Eyegaze technology. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 3:00 PM, ensuring consistent hours with no weekend requirements.

Key Qualifications
  • Current Illinois (IL) State Speech Language Pathologist license is preferred.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are also encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience in a school environment and with AAC devices (such as Eyegaze) is valued.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
