Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for school-based travel assignments in Portsmouth, VA. The role involves evaluating students and delivering therapy services, with documentation aligned to each student’s care plan and physician orders.

The position requires active SLP licensure in the state of assignment. CCC-SLP is preferred and may be required by the contract. CPR, health certificates, and safety screenings may be required per policy.

Qualifications

• Active Speech-Language Pathologist licensure in the state of assignment is required.
• CCC-SLP certification is preferred and may be required by state/contract.
• Must comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate per contract/state regulation.

Responsibilities

• Perform student evaluations in the school setting.
• Provide and document therapy services per the plan of care and physician orders.
• Ensure documentation aligns with required regulations and standards.

The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders.

Minimum Requirements

• Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment required


• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.


• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice


• Current CPR if applicable


• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable


• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)


• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements


• Must be at least 18 years of age
