Job summary

MSAD #11 is seeking a dynamic School Social Worker to join the Student Support Team at Helen Thompson Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.

The role focuses on providing school-based social work services across all grade levels, promoting student well-being and a positive climate, and collaborating with families, educators, and community partners to support student success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology required; Maine LCSW licensure required; CHRC authorization through MA Dept of Education.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct student support and interventions, including individual and group counseling and crisis response.
• Collaborate with special educators, support staff, service providers, parents and administrators to address student needs.
• Assist with social-emotional learning, behavior intervention planning, and attendance improvement.
• Maintain accurate records in line with district policies and state/federal regulations.
• Participate in IEP meetings, offering data-informed feedback for goals.
• Conduct regular progress monitoring to track student growth and adjust services.
