Job summary

Sanford Middle School is seeking a collaborative General Education Social Worker to provide social-emotional and behavioral support to students through individual and small-group interventions. You will work with staff, families, and community partners to promote student well-being and inclusive climate.

Responsibilities include analyzing student data to inform decisions, coordinating with teachers and specialists, and connecting families with resources.

Qualifications

• LSW with advanced standing in graduate program (LMSW/LCSW/LCPC-C/LCPC).
• Valid Maine certification/licensure as a School Social Worker.
• Experience delivering evidence-based social-emotional and behavioral interventions.
• Knowledge of child/adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, PBIS, MTSS.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, communication, organizational and data analysis skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based social-emotional and behavioral interventions to students in individual and small-group settings.
• Collect, analyze, and use student data to identify needs and monitor interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, families, and community agencies to plan supports.
• Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources.
• Support initiatives that promote positive behavior, engagement, and attendance.
• Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school climate through proactive practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in ongoing professional learning.
