Job summary

Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in Nashville, TN seeks a School Social Worker to collaborate with schools, parents, and students to remove barriers to academic success. You will provide counseling, case management, and support services to student groups and families.

The position requires a Master of Social Work, 1–3 years of experience with children, and licensure eligibility or active Tennessee School Social Work license; LCSW is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work is required.
• 1–3 years experience working with children is required.
• Licensed by the Tennessee Department of Education in School Social Work or eligible is required.
• LCSW license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical counseling to individual students, student groups and families as needed.
• Provide case management/wrap-around services to students and their families.
• Facilitate small group and classroom lessons on a variety of topics.
• Provide mental health assessments and evaluations and offer recommendations to multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize SMS programs to view and manage student data and interpret data to inform interventions.
• Provide professional development on a variety of topics as needed.
• Participate in school-level meetings (IEP, S-Team, Threat Assessment) as required.
• Schedule and make regular home visits to remove student barriers and address needs.
