Job summary

SJCISD is seeking a School Social Worker to join our diagnostic team, serving as a liaison between family, school and community to ensure students have the emotional, behavioral, and social support necessary to access the general education curriculum.

The position requires a Master’s in Social Work with a valid state license and eligibility for Michigan’s School Social Worker Approval, with duties including assessments, behavior plans, and collaboration with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work with valid state Social Work License.
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain Michigan Dept. of Education (MDE) School Social Worker Approval.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required training/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate accommodations and modifications for student access to general education.
• Provide crisis prevention and intervention services and assessments of trauma impact.
• Develop behavioral assessments and plans to support learning and socialization.
