Job summary

Princeton Staffing Solutions seeks a School Social Worker (MSW/LMSW) in Frederick, MD for in-person, school-based mental health services within a public school district. The role covers Pre K–12 with the IEP team, eligibility determinations, and direct student support under IDEA.

Requirements include a Master’s in Social Work, state social work licensure if required, and applicable teacher certification. Travel and W2 options available; competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• MSW degree required for candidacy.
• State Social Work license (if required).
• Educational/Teacher certification (if required by state DOE).
• Experience as a School-Based Social Worker preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate eligibility for special education services and placement as a member of the IEP team as defined by IDEA.
• Assess social and emotional development, mental health status, and adaptive behavior relevant to case study evaluations.
• Use a holistic approach to assess cultural, environmental, and socio-economic factors.
• Determine related service needs (e.g., social work, counseling, consultation) and set goals/objectives aligned with special education eligibility.
• Collaborate with school staff on functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
• Share assessment findings during IEP meetings and conferences.
• Provide individual, group, or evidence-based curriculum instruction as required by the student's IEP.
• Deliver direct social work services to students.
