Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
• School Social Work Full Approval and/or MOECS Provisional/Professional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide group and individual counseling and classroom support for special education students per IEPs and monitor IEP goals.
• Provide counseling to general education students and monitor responses to interventions.
• Develop and monitor behavior intervention plans and support teachers accordingly.
• Complete psychosocial assessments to aid in determining special education services.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and clearly communicate results to the team.
• Complete risk assessments for students in the program.
• Build relationships with students and parents and participate in school planning.
• Identify community resources and refer students for educational and behavioral interventions.
• Offer staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental issues affecting participation in learning.
• Provide crisis intervention services.
• Maintain state-required clinical records and submit documentation for reports.
