25-26 School Year: School Social Worker (K-8). School Social Worker Endorsement required.

Job Summary

• Investigate and report incidents of child abuse and neglect.
• Provide crisis intervention.
• Assist the Principal in coordinating the building crisis team.
• Prepare social developmental studies and participate in IEP conferences, including goal setting.
• Participate in Teacher Collaboration Team meetings.
• Provide consultation and inservice to staff regarding social/emotional needs of students.
• Identify students requiring intervention and provide direct services to students and families.
• Serve as a liaison between homes, schools, hospitals, social welfare agencies, therapists, and other entities.
• Prepare and submit reports related to the social work program.
• Expand knowledge related to social work, including technology applications, through professional development.

Qualifications: Professional Educator License with School Social Worker Endorsement as required by the State Board of Education and the School Code.

Working Conditions: Full-time position.
