Newark Board of Education in Newark, NJ invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Social Worker 2. The role is contingent upon available funds and Board of Education approval.

Under supervision, the social worker will consult with teachers, support staff, families and agencies; observe, gather data, prepare reports and participate in team meetings to support student achievement and inclusion.

Qualificações

• New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate or Emergency license as deemed necessary.
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsabilidades

• Consult with supervisors, resource teachers and classroom teachers regarding at-risk students.
• Support teachers in planning strategies and adapting teaching practices.
• Conduct regular visits to classrooms to observe and model interventions.
• Provide feedback on strategies and classroom modifications and equipment selections.
• Plan and implement professional development for staff to facilitate preschool inclusion.
• Coordinate meetings with professionals and families to plan as a team.
• Assist teachers with involving and educating families.
• Gather data related to student performance through interviews and agency contacts.
• Generate written professional reports.
• Participate in Child Study Team meetings as requested.
• Serve as a resource to families and staff for information and referrals.
• Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate data.

Formação académica
