Job summary

Requirements include a NJ School Social Worker certificate or eligibility for an Emergency certificate and a Master’s in Social Work; LCSW preferred; bilingual/bicultural education

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
• New Jersey Standard School Social Worker certificate or eligible for an Emergency certificate.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred.
• New Jersey Bilingual/Bicultural Education certificate preferred.
• Alternative: evidence of passing OPI/WPT in target language with Advanced Low; degree from an accredited university in target language; World Language Certificate in target language.

Responsibilities

• Manages mental health programming for the district.
• Develops and procures mental health resources and services for student families and staff.
• Confers with student support staff to plan strategies, adapt practices and modify for student goals.
• Conducts trainings to promote mental health initiatives.
• Coordinates meetings with social service, mental health agencies, and hospital centers to develop partnerships.
• Assists staff with strategies for involving families, students, and school staff about mental health and referrals.
• Generates written professional reports with statistical data.
• Maintains and reports accurate statistical data related to productivity.
• Provides support around Title IV grant related activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
