Job summary

REAL Journey Academies is seeking a School Social Worker to provide counseling, case management, and preventive programs addressing student well-being and substance use. You will collaborate with school personnel to implement evidence-based interventions and coordinate with community partners to support families.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work (or related field) and a Pupil Personnel Services credential, with prior school-based experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.
• Pupil Personnel Services credential in Social Work.
• Minimum one year experience in school settings with substance use prevention and intervention.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling focused on substance use and its effects on students.
• Develop and lead substance use education programs, including curricula and workshops.
• Collaborate with community organizations and agencies specializing in substance use recovery.
• Maintain case records and documentation per HIPAA/FERPA and school policies.
• Prepare reports and presentations on program progress and outcomes for administrators and boards.
• Be available for evening and weekend activities.
