Job summary

Mount Prospect Academy in Plymouth, NH is seeking an experienced School Social Worker to support adolescents facing emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges.

This full-time role requires a Master's in Social Work (or related field), NH certification, licensure, and at least 2 years of counseling experience; trauma-informed practice preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• NH Certification in School Social Work.
• Licensed or pursuing licensure via NH Board of Mental Health Practice and NH DOE.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience counseling adolescents and families.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to adolescents.
• Collaborate with IEP teams to support student progress and counseling goals.
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment, support, and crisis plans.
• Conduct clinical assessments and provide behavioral health support.
• Build strong therapeutic relationships with students and families.
• Facilitate treatment team meetings and coordinate care with stakeholders.
• Support trauma-informed practices throughout the academic setting.
• Conduct safety assessments and crisis intervention when necessary.
• Partner with families, schools, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
• Maintain accurate case documentation, service logs, and student records.
• Deliver professional development and trauma-informed training to staff.
• Participate in student-focused meetings and collaborate with administration.

Education

Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
