Lake Forest Community High School District 115 seeks a Social Work Intern to support students' emotional well-being through individual and group counseling, IEP/504 participation, risk assessments, and crisis team involvement.

The internship provides a $12,000 stipend and requires MSW progress in school social work, a full-year commitment, and strong collaboration with students, families, and staff, with proficiency in Google Apps for Education.

Qualifications

• Currently in a MSW program, with a focus on school social work.
• School agreement for the internship to be for a full school year.
• Interested in working collaboratively with students, faculty, parents and administrators in the school setting.
• Ability to initiate Non-Violent Crisis Intervention techniques after training.
• Effective communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills for problem-solving.
• Experience in analyzing data to plan for intervention and instructional methods.
• Demonstrates ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team.
• Proficient use of Google Apps for Education and school-based systems.
• Demonstrates ongoing professional learning and reflection.
• Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing.
• Strong planning, organization and deadline management.
• Commitment to excellence and student well-being.
• Adheres to Board of Education policies.

Responsibilities

• Promote inclusive practices for students with disabilities.
• Serve as an intern for Educational Services and Special Education departments.
• Deliver and/or co-deliver individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices.
• Help create co-treatment plans related to social emotional learning standards.
• Use data collection systems and monitor progress, sharing data for IEP goals.
• Engage in support and intervention planning for students at all tiered levels.
• Participate in Problem Solving Team model, implement interventions and track data.
• Attend IEP meetings and assist the IEP team with goals.
• Assist with developing behavior intervention plans and data collection.
• Provide direct and indirect service in classroom and communicate with parents.
• Respond to student crises and connect families with resources.
• Collaborate with school personnel to benefit students.
• Complete quarterly IEP goal benchmarks and pursue professional growth.
• Participate in professional development as assigned.
• Assist with administering state and local assessments.
