Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a School Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a contract, part-time role in Rochester, WA. The interpreter will facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and others in educational settings, using American Sign Language to interpret spoken language.

The position offers $55 per hour with approximately 16 hours per week and requires ASL proficiency along with applicable state certifications where required.

• TB/health clearance if applicable.
• Health certificate as per contract or state regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

The Educational Sign Language Interpreter is a trainedprofessional who facilities communication between deaf or hard-of-hearingstudents and others within an educational setting. Often, American SignLanguage (ASL) is used to interpret spoken language into sign language and viceversa, which ensures students have accommodations to classroom instruction,activities and learning discussions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language

• Associates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deafstudies or related field, preferred

• State Board of Education Initial Sign Language InterpreterCertificate (as applicable)

• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)

• Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)

• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
